Named for Royal Lytham, the prestigious English golf club
that has hosted nine British Open Championships, Lytham at
Landfall possesses the attributes to live up to its name -
most notably, exemplary golf.
The 45 holes of the Dye and Nicklaus golf courses meander
around interior wetlands and border the mirror-like surfaces
of silvery lakes, sometimes even stretching close enough to
provide pleasing views of the Intercostal Waterway and the
Atlantic Ocean.
Designed to preserve and enhance the natural character of
the land, the 27 holes of the championship Nicklaus Course
take advantage of Landfall's abundant saltwater and freshwater
marshes as well as the panoramic views of Howe Creek and the
Intercostal Waterway. This challenging course features rolling
fairways, strategic sand and grass bunkers, smooth Bentgrass
greens, and water on 12 holes. The layout offers many shot-making
challenges, and few golfers will leave the course without
using every club in the bag.
The superb 18-hole championship Pete Dye Course features five
sets of tee placements that allow professionals and long-hitting
amateurs to share their golfing experience with higher handicap
golfers. Dye used a variety of grasses on the Landfall course.
The A-1/A-4 Bentgrass greens, Tifway II Bermudagrass fairways,
and Centipedegrass roughs provide a mixture that visually
frames target areas. The Dye Course also features freshwater
lakes and dramatic views of the Intracoastal Waterway.
Additionally, The
Country Club of Landfall is home to the Cliff Drysdale
Tennis Center, with 14 courts on three different surfaces,
clay, hard and grass, as well as a beautiful swimming pool
and a state-of-the-art fitness center. The fitness center
features cardiovascular equipment, weights, personal training
services, massage therapy, and a wide variety of exercise
classes.
